Some of you people just bitch way to fucking much. If people complain that the phone being dropped is gravity's fault and not theirs.......could we grow up please?
If you spend $400 on a goddamned phone, then I guess you'd better be prepared to take good care of it; how about getting a nice case to protect it (I mean, what's another $40 to protect the thing?). I've had mine for four months now and the thing has never even sat on a table without something soft under it.
It's sad that Apple won't replace a phone that got dropped, but that's just NOT A GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICE.

In the future, if you plan on unloading more than a couple of Benjamins on a fucking glorified walkie-talkie, then it's probably a good idea to do some research on the product before you purchase it and are disappointed. If it's for you, GREAT! But if it's not, then don't whine like a two-year-old when it isn't what you expected.
