wow this is a first; a hate site for the iphone? well honestly people, you all had it coming. this is why apple is exactly the same as any other mega conglomerate out there; except that they are probably the slimiest of them all. Why? Because of their marketing. Their marketing makes you think "oohh, but we're not like other companies. we're Apple. down with those other mass conforming companies and their conformist ways! we are the better and only alternative you need to choose! give us your money and we'll give you the highest quality product we can make! :P " conformist companies? pffff... please. apple is IMO worse than any other mega-con. to date. if they are so "anti conformist" and "rebellious" and "sticking it to the man", why is it that practically all their products (save their computers/select laptops) have such a low limit to their hard drive? i mean 8 gb? and the thing thats really twisted is that (unless you're an engineer) you can't add on a memory card (something that pretty much all other electronic based companies have embraced due to the wide selection of different amounts of memory). and thats the key to their conniving ways. they make you think that whatever product you have (be it computer, laptop, media player, in this case phone; hell, even if its a freaking apple product) is old, obsolete, and should be tossed when the new,bigger storage, faster, slimmer, shinier iproduct is released by steve "i sold my soul to the devil" Jobs at next quarter's WWDC. And you know what the scary part is? people are buying into it. they think they're being anti conformist? they just bought a product that was made specifically for the demographic they are in: young, stupid, and full of trust fund (and/or just plain) money. they think "oh, its an apple. im being rebellious and sticking it to the man by buying this iproduct" oh yeah? you just dropped a large ammount of X dollars on a product you cant upgrade (in terms of memory) based on the fact that the only reason you chose this alternative was to be "alternative". but in reality you've become another pawn in their conglomerate scheme, willing to buy the next iproduct at the drop of a hat as soon as it is released, in some cases no matter what the cost, and you'll do it again, thus continuing the vicious and dark cycle that keeps apple maintaining this image of perfectness wrapped in inconformity and covered with a sleek plastic white, black, aluminum and or multi colored shell that may or may not have a large enough HD. but now, with this Iphone they have really outdone themselves. they made the world think that the telephone (the telephone, people! its made to make phone calls!) was obsolete and dull... unless if you had the iPhone. oh, its got an Ipod. Its got the internet. it has a camera. wouldn't you like all that as well as the simple ability to do what a cell phone was first designed to do? Make a phone call? please.. but i have to admit their brainwashing has gotten good enough to where they have throngs upon throngs of piggy banks waiting outside of their stores to pick one up; like a heroin addict eager for their next fix. just like how anyone who actually bought an iphone and reads this (hopefully) will stop for a second and think before they put aside $500 in the "apple" jar when the iphone 2 is released june 9, 2008 at the WWDC in San Francisco, "huh, i better buy that iphone before they run out in preperation for the next one!" okay, if you really have read into this rant all the way up to here and actually agree with some/all of what i have said, feel free to repost it anywhere.i don't care about plagiarism or credit or anything like that, i just want it to snowball. besides, good writers cite their references, but geniuses steal ideas and make it better : ) (okay just one request; add that last line about plagiarism to any rant {if you really want to} so if one day i do see it on some other site i can be happy knowing that it is snowballing) thanks for sticking around this long : )
Get over it said - What a bunch of whiny little shitheads! The i-phone is a work of art and is a beautiful piece of equipment. Sounds like everyone here is trying to do things with this phone that you shouldn't and are f**king it all up! Just quit messing with it and use it for what it is...a phone!

Ok I had waited and waited to be able to afford my iphone....I was so excited to finally get it, YEAH YEAH! I love Apple products and I am an avid apple user but damn the iphone really dissapointed me. There are more things about the iphone i HATE than things i LOVE! 1) the battery life sucks, if the battery is going to die with in like 2 hours of listening to the ipod and talking etc then it should come with a car charger or something so that you can coninue to talk on it through out the day!
2) the fact you have to have a wifi connection to send email, update the weather, maps, etc. I could do all that on my LG phone that cost only 39 dollars.
3) you cant resend a text, text pictures, videos, etc. when you go to delete one you have to delete the whole conversation rather than one part. THAT SUCKS!!!
ALl and all it really sicnks and I think i cried over that phone becasue I spent so much money on it and it dissapointed me so much. I am going to TRY to trade it in on a blackberry or something more usable.
Bought it, loved it broke one the first day, broke the second one a month later. I'm buying a blackberry.
Myself and Luke were lucky enough to not fall into the iPhone's evil clutches... What good is a f*cking phone nowdays without - MMS, VideoCam, Copy/Paste, Instant Messaging and all the other programs SMARTPHONES have?... I don't really care if it is a great touchscreen!... Make it a practical phone!

Abominable call logging (bunches up multiple calls, I need to see each and every call, duration and time separately).
Low battery life.
Can't use contacts from SIM directly, MUST copy to iphone contacts.
As far as phone functionality is concerned, iphone has some work to do.

My iPhone is problem free. I know this message will probably be hugely unpopular but I think the iPhone is very cool.
I think Apple still have a long way to go in developing its features though and probably many of the things you'd like to see (copy>paste / mms / video / better camera etc etc) will appear in later software updates or versions of the iPhone.
I had a Treo 650 previously and being able to sync via bluetooth is something I'd like to see in the iPhone.
When Mac OS 10 first came out it took probably 2 or 3 fairly major upgrades to get it to a point where it was really usable (OS 10.3 onwards in my opinion and it's now at 10.5). I think it will be the same with the iPhone. 1 or 2 more versions of it and I think it will be very usable indeed.
Hugely unpopular comments I know because I realise you're paying for it now and you want it to just work which is fair enough.
If you really need features like MMS / video etc etc then probably best to wait for later releases of the iPhone.

1. Apps won't open. I've had to reformat the phone 15 times. The Tech woman blamed ME for adding too many apps. Does it with 2 apps or 52 apps. They have no clue how to fix.
2. Dropped calls? It's a miracle when I can finish a call. I find myself speaking really fast hoping that I can get it all in before the call is dropped.
3. The GPS, which works occasionally, locates me in Florida. I'm in Boston. Apple tells me it's a known problem and "they're working on it."
I'm reporting this to the Attorney General's Office, Consumer Fraud Division.
I hope all the haters die and get electrocuted.
iPhone is wonderful and gives me meaning to live.

The phone is simply good for tech savvy people who have too much time on their hands, or for bimbos who wants a bloody phone to look cool... And being somewhere in the middle, i'm stuck in the shit with my shitty iPhone.
To add on, i've never spent a single minute reaing a manual for all my other phones.. but with this stoopid iphone, i spend the whole freaking day finding ways to resolve problems that comes with it...
